Ingredients for - Basic Creole Sauce

1. Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
2. Chopped celery - 2 cups
3. Chopped onion - 2 cups
4. Chopped green bell pepper - 2 cups
5. Chopped carrot - 2 cups
6. Garlic, chopped - 6 cloves
7. Whole peeled tomatoes with liquid, chopped - 4 (14.5 ounce) cans
8. Water - 4 cups
9. Chicken bouillon granules - 2 tablespoons
10. Bay leaves - 2
11. Clam juice - 1 (8 ounce) bottle
12. White wine - 1 cup
13. Orange, zested - 1
14. Red pepper flakes - 1 tablespoon
15. Smoked paprika - 1 tablespoon
16. Saffron - 1 pinch
17. Dried oregano, or to taste - 1 pinch
18. Dried basil, or to taste - 1 pinch
19. Dried thyme, or to taste - 1 pinch
20. Salt and ground black pepper to taste - 1 pinch

How to cook deliciously - Basic Creole Sauce

1. Stage

Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Stir in celery, onion, bell pepper, carrot, and garlic; cook and stir until vegetables are tender, about 10 minutes.

2. Stage

Stir tomatoes with their juice, water, chicken bouillon cubes, and bay leaves into the vegetable mixture.

3. Stage

Stir in clam juice and white wine. Season with orange zest, red pepper flakes, smoked paprika, saffron, oregano, basil, and thyme.

4. Stage

Bring the sauce to a boil, reduce heat to low, and simmer until the flavors have blended, at least 1 hour. Season to taste with salt and black pepper.
