1. Flat-cut corned beef brisket - 1 (5 pound)
2. Browning sauce (such as Kitchen Bouquet®), or as desired - 1 tablespoon
3. Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
4. Onion, sliced - 1
5. Garlic, sliced - 6 cloves
6. Water - 2 tablespoons

Preheat oven to 275 degrees F (135 degrees C).
