7. Baking powder - ½ teaspoon
8. Salt - ⅛ teaspoon
9. Flaked coconut - 1 cup
10. Chopped walnuts - ½ cup
11. Maraschino cherries, chopped - ½ cup
12. Confectioners' sugar - 1 cup
13. Butter - 2 tablespoons
14. Vanilla extract - ½ teaspoon
15. Water - 1 tablespoon

How to cook deliciously - Cherry Squares

1. Stage

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Prepare the cookie crust: Stir together flour and brown sugar in a medium bowl. Rub in butter using your hands or a pastry blender. Press into an ungreased 9-inch square pan.

Bake in the preheated oven until lightly browned at the edges, about 15 minutes. Set aside.
