1. Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
2. Onion, chopped - 1
3. Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
4. Peeled and chopped sweet potatoes - 2 cups
5. Chicken broth - 3 cups
6. Bay leaf - 1
7. Dried basil - 1 teaspoon
8. Dried thyme - ½ teaspoon
9. Paprika - ¼ teaspoon
10. Tomato, chopped - 1
11. Frozen mixed vegetables - 1 (10 ounce) package
12. Garbanzo beans, drained - 1 (15 ounce) can
13. Salt to taste - 1 (15 ounce) can
14. Ground black pepper to taste - 1 (15 ounce) can

How to cook deliciously - Chickpea Soup I

1. Stage

In a saucepan, warm oil over moderate heat. Add onion, garlic, and sweet potatoes; saute 5 minutes.

2. Stage

Stir in broth, bay leaf, basil, thyme, and paprika. Salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a boil, and then reduce heat to medium low. Cover. Simmer until vegetables are tender but not mushy, about 15 minutes.

3. Stage

Stir in tomato, green beans, and chickpeas. Simmer uncovered until tender, about 10 minutes more. Serve hot.
