Ingredients for - Congo Bars I

1. Sifted all-purpose flour - 2 cups
2. Baking powder - 2 teaspoons
3. Salt - ½ teaspoon
4. Shortening - ⅔ cup
5. Packed brown sugar - 2 ¼ cups
6. Eggs - 3
7. Semisweet chocolate chips - 2 cups
8. Chopped walnuts - 1 cup
9. Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon

How to cook deliciously - Congo Bars I

1. Stage

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).

2. Stage

Melt shortening, stir in brown sugar. Let cool.

3. Stage

Beat in the eggs.

4. Stage

Add dry ingredients.

5. Stage

Add chocolate chips, nuts and vanilla.

6. Stage

Pour in 10 x 15-inch pan and bake for 30 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
