Ingredients for - Grandma's Harvard Beets

1. White sugar - ¾ cup
2. Cornstarch - 4 teaspoons
3. White vinegar - ⅓ cup
4. Water - ⅓ cup
5. Sliced beets, drained - 2 (15 ounce) cans
6. Butter - 3 tablespoons
7. Salt - ¼ teaspoon
8. Pepper - ¼ teaspoon

How to cook deliciously - Grandma's Harvard Beets

1. Stage

Combine sugar, cornstarch, vinegar, and water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, and cook for 5 minutes.

2. Stage

Add beets to the liquid, and simmer for 30 minutes over low heat. Stir in butter, salt, and pepper, and remove from the heat. Serve warm or chilled.
