Ingredients for - Date Nut Bars

1. 2 cups sugar -
2. 2 cups all-purpose flour -
3. 2 teaspoons baking powder -
4. 1/4 teaspoon salt -
5. 2 cups chopped dates -
6. 2 cups chopped walnuts or pecans -
7. 4 large eggs, lightly beaten, room temperature -
8. 2 tablespoons butter, melted -
9. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract -
10. Confectioners' sugar -

How to cook deliciously - Date Nut Bars

1. Stage

In a large bowl, mix together the sugar, flour, baking powder, salt, dates and nuts. Add in the eggs, butter and vanilla. Stir until the ingredients are just combined and the dry ingredients are moistened. Editor's Tip: The batter will be very stiff. You don’t want to overwork it or the texture of your bars won’t be what you’re hoping for.

2. Stage

Spread the bars into a greased 15x10x1-inch baking pan. Bake at 350°F for 20 to 25 minutes or until the bars are golden brown. Let the bars cool on a wire rack in the pan, then dust with confectioner’s sugar before slicing and serving.
