1. Chickpeas (garbanzo beans), drained with liquid reserved - 1 (15 ounce) can
2. Olive oil, or more if needed - 3 tablespoons
3. Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
4. Toasted sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
5. Ground dried jalapeno pepper, or to taste - 2 teaspoons
6. Minced fresh garlic - 1 teaspoon
7. Sesame oil - ¼ teaspoon
8. Sea salt, or to taste - ½ teaspoon
9. Ground cumin (Optional) - ⅛ teaspoon

1. Stage

Blend chickpeas, about half the reserved liquid from the chickpeas, olive oil, lemon juice, sesame seeds, ground dried jalapeno pepper, garlic, sesame oil, sea salt, and cumin in a blender until smooth and creamy. Blend more reserved liquid or olive oil into the mixture until the hummus reaches your desired consistency.
