1. Ground beef - 3 pounds
2. Beer - 3 (12 fluid ounce) cans or bottles
3. Tomato sauce - 2 (15 ounce) cans
4. Diced tomatoes - 2 (15 ounce) cans
5. Pinto beans, undrained - 1 (15 ounce) can
6. Red beans, undrained - 1 (15 ounce) can
7. Kidney beans, undrained - 1 (15 ounce) can
8. White onions, chopped (Optional) - 2 large
9. Green bell pepper, chopped - 1 large
10. Red bell pepper, chopped - 1 large
11. Light brown sugar - ½ cup
12. Garlic, chopped - 4 cloves
13. Chili seasoning mix - 2 (1.25 ounce) packages
14. Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
15. Ground mustard - ½ teaspoon
16. Shredded Cheddar cheese, or to taste (Optional) - 1 cup
17. Chopped onion, or to taste (Optional) - ½ cup
18. Hot pepper sauce, or to taste - 1 dash
19. Salt and ground black pepper to taste - 1 dash

How to cook deliciously - Grandpa Ron's Awesome Three-Bean Chili

1. Stage

Heat a large stock pot over medium-high heat. Cook and stir beef until browned and crumbly, 10 to 15 minutes; drain and discard grease. Mix beer, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, pinto beans, red beans, kidney beans, 2 chopped onions, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, brown sugar, garlic, chili seasoning mix, cornstarch, and mustard into ground beef; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover pot, and simmer, stirring frequently, until flavors have blended, about 1 hour.

2. Stage

Top each serving with about 1 tablespoon Cheddar cheese, 1 1/2 teaspoons onion, and hot sauce; season with salt and pepper.
