Ingredients for - Italian Lentil Salad

1. Water - 4 cups
2. Dried lentils, rinsed - 1 ½ cups
3. Fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced - 4 ounces
4. Thinly sliced prosciutto - 4 ounces
5. Fresh basil, leaves stripped from stems - 1 bunch
6. Balsamic vinaigrette dressing, or as needed - ¼ cup

How to cook deliciously - Italian Lentil Salad

1. Stage

Bring water to a boil in a saucepan; add lentils. Cover and simmer until lentils are tender, about 35 minutes. Drain and and cool to room temperature.

2. Stage

Divide lentils among 4 salad plates; layer with mozzarella cheese slices, prosciutto, and fresh basil. Drizzle balsamic vinaigrette over each salad.
