1. Torn romaine lettuce - 2 cups
2. Fresh figs, quartered - 6
3. Large ripe but firm pear, peeled and thinly sliced - 1
4. Chopped pecans, toasted - ¼ cup
5. Shredded Gruyere cheese - ¼ cup
6. Red onion, thinly sliced - 1 small
7. Extra-virgin olive oil - 3 tablespoons
8. Balsamic Vinegar - 3 tablespoons
9. Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste - 3 tablespoons

1. Stage

Combine romaine lettuce, figs, pear, pecans, Gruyere cheese, and onion in a large bowl. Drizzle evenly with olive oil and vinegar. Season with salt and pepper. Toss lightly and serve.
