Ingredients for - Simple Carnitas

1. Boneless pork shoulder, trimmed and cut into 2 inch chunks 1 (3 1/2) pound
2. Oranges, quartered 2
3. White onion, quartered 1 large
4. Garlic, peeled and crushed 6 cloves
5. Kosher salt ¼ cup
6. Ground cumin 1 tablespoon
7. Whole black peppercorns 1 tablespoon
8. Bay leaves 2

How to cook deliciously - Simple Carnitas

1 . Stage

Place pork shoulder, oranges, onion, garlic, kosher salt, cumin, black peppercorns, and bay leaves into a large Dutch oven. Add water to cover.

2 . Stage

Bring to a boil over high heat, reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer for 10 minutes. Skim off any foam that rises to the top.

3 . Stage

Cover loosely and simmer until meat is tender, about 1 1/2 hours.

4 . Stage

Allow pork to cool, covered, in broth for 1 hour.

5 . Stage

Shred meat with two forks.
