Ingredients for - Slow Cooker Hoppin' John Chowder

1. Instant white rice - 1 ½ cups
2. Ground beef sirloin - 1 pound
3. Chopped green bell pepper - ½ cup
4. Chopped onion - 1 cup
5. Black-eyed peas with liquid - 3 (15.5 ounce) cans
6. Condensed beef broth - 1 (10.5 ounce) can
7. Diced tomatoes and green chiles - 2 (10 ounce) cans
8. Water, or as needed - ½ cup

How to cook deliciously - Slow Cooker Hoppin' John Chowder

1. Stage

Prepare rice according to package instructions, and set aside. Meanwhile, combine the ground sirloin, green pepper and onion in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook, stirring frequently, and crumbling beef until no longer pink. Drain off grease.

2. Stage

Place the rice and beef mixture into a 5 quart slow cooker. Add the black-eyed peas, beef broth, diced tomatoes with green chilies and enough water to cover everything.

3. Stage

Cover, and cook on Low for 4 to 6 hours.
