How to cook deliciously - Southern Mac and Cheese

1. Stage

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Cook the macaroni according to package directions. Editor's Tip: If you like your macaroni with a little give, cook it until al dente to prevent the macaroni from becoming too soft while it cooks in the cheese sauce.

2. Stage

Meanwhile, in a large bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, butter, mustard, seasoned salt and pepper until combined.

3. Stage

Stir in the Velveeta and 1-1/2 cups each of mild and sharp cheddar cheeses.

4. Stage

Drain the macaroni and add it to the cheese mixture. Toss everything well to coat the macaroni. Pour the macaroni and cheese into a greased 3-quart baking dish and top with the remaining cheese.

5. Stage

Bake, uncovered until cheese is melted and edges are bubbly, 25 to 30 minutes. Editor's Tip: No need to cover this mac and cheese while it's in the oven. You want that top layer of cheese to melt and turn to a golden-brown crust.
