1. 1 pound ground beef -
2. 1 medium onion, chopped -

4. 1 can (15 ounces) pinto beans, undrained -
5. 1 can (14-1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained -
6. 2 cans (4 ounces each) chopped green chiles -
7. 1/2 cup uncooked long grain rice -
8. 1/2 cup water -
9. 1 to 2 tablespoons chili powder -
10. 2 teaspoons dried cilantro flakes -
11. 1 teaspoon salt -
12. 1 teaspoon ground cumin -
13. Shredded cheddar cheese, salsa and minced fresh cilantro -
14. Tortilla chips -

How to cook deliciously - Texas-Style Skillet

1. Stage

In a large skillet, cook the beef, onion and garlic over medium heat until the meat is no longer pink; drain. Add the beans, tomatoes, chiles, rice, water and seasonings. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; covered and simmer for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

2. Stage

Serve in the skillet or transfer to a shallow serving dish. Sprinkle with toppings of your choice. Serve with tortilla chips.
