Ingredients for - Vegetarian Mexican Rice

1. Vegetable oil - 3 tablespoons
2. Diced onion - ⅔ cup
3. Uncooked white rice - 1 ½ cups
4. Chopped green bell pepper - 1 cup
5. Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
6. Chili powder - 1 teaspoon
7. Tomato sauce - 1 ½ (8 ounce) cans
8. Salt - 2 teaspoons
9. Garlic, minced - 1 clove
10. Powdered saffron - ⅛ teaspoon
11. Water - 3 cups

How to cook deliciously - Vegetarian Mexican Rice

1. Stage

In a large saucepan, heat vegetable oil over medium-low heat. Place onions in the pan, and sauté until golden.

2. Stage

Add rice to the pan, and stir to coat grains with oil. Mix in green bell pepper, cumin, chili powder, tomato sauce, salt, garlic, saffron, and water. Cover, bring to a boil, and then reduce heat to simmer. Cook for 30 to 40 minutes, or until rice is tender. Occasionally stir.
