1. Milk 1 cup
2. White sugar ⅓ cup
3. Sweetened cocoa powder 2 tablespoons
4. Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
5. Salt 1 pinch
6. Semisweet baking chocolate, broken into pieces 2 (1 ounce) squares
7. Heavy cream 1 cup

1 . Stage

Heat milk in a small saucepan over low heat until milk begins to steam.

Whisk sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and salt into steamed milk until dissolved. Stir in chocolate until melted. Remove saucepan from heat; allow to cool slightly.

Beat heavy cream in a large mixing bowl with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form. Gently fold whipped cream into hot chocolate. Serve immediately.
