Ingredients for - Black Cumberland Sauce

1. Vegetable oil 1 teaspoon
2. Minced onion ½ cup
3. Red wine ⅓ cup
4. Black currant jelly 1 cup
5. Oranges, zested and juiced 2
6. Lemon, zested and juiced 1
7. Brown sugar 1 tablespoon
8. Freshly ground black pepper, or to taste 2 teaspoons
9. Mustard powder ¼ teaspoon
10. Ground ginger ¼ teaspoon
11. Cayenne pepper 1 pinch
12. Salt to taste 1 pinch

How to cook deliciously - Black Cumberland Sauce

1 . Stage

Heat vegetable oil in large saucepan over medium heat. Cook and stir onions in the hot oil, until nearly dark brown, 10 to 15 minutes.

2 . Stage

Pour wine into the saucepan, bring to a simmer and cook until reduced by half, about 1 minute; remove pan from heat.

3 . Stage

Stir currant jelly, orange juice, orange zest, lemon zest, lemon juice, brown sugar, black pepper, mustard powder, ginger, cayenne pepper, and salt into onion mixture until combined.

4 . Stage

Bring sauce to a boil; remove from heat.
