Ingredients for - Black Cumberland Sauce

1. Vegetable oil - 1 teaspoon
2. Minced onion - ½ cup
3. Red wine - ⅓ cup
4. Black currant jelly - 1 cup
5. Oranges, zested and juiced - 2
6. Lemon, zested and juiced - 1
7. Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
8. Freshly ground black pepper, or to taste - 2 teaspoons
9. Mustard powder - ¼ teaspoon
10. Ground ginger - ¼ teaspoon
11. Cayenne pepper - 1 pinch
12. Salt to taste - 1 pinch

How to cook deliciously - Black Cumberland Sauce

1. Stage

Heat vegetable oil in large saucepan over medium heat. Cook and stir onions in the hot oil, until nearly dark brown, 10 to 15 minutes.

2. Stage

Pour wine into the saucepan, bring to a simmer and cook until reduced by half, about 1 minute; remove pan from heat.

3. Stage

Stir currant jelly, orange juice, orange zest, lemon zest, lemon juice, brown sugar, black pepper, mustard powder, ginger, cayenne pepper, and salt into onion mixture until combined.

4. Stage

Bring sauce to a boil; remove from heat.
