2. Black beans, drained 2 (16 ounce) cans
3. Frozen corn 1 (10 ounce) package
4. Diced tomatoes 1 (14.5 ounce) can
5. Jalapeno pepper, stemmed, seeded and minced 1
6. Ground cumin 2 tablespoons
7. Chili powder 2 teaspoons
8. Chopped fresh cilantro ½ cup
9. Salt and freshly ground black pepper ½ cup
10. Tortilla chips ½ cup
11. Grated Monterey Jack cheese ½ cup
12. Fresh lime wedges ½ cup

1 . Stage

Prepare Fast Chicken Soup Base. Bring to a simmer.

2 . Stage

Add these, then simmer until tender, 10-20 minutes: 2 16-ounce cans black beans, drained; 1 10-ounce package frozen corn; 1 14.5-ounce can diced tomatoes; 1 jalapeno pepper, stemmed, seeded and minced; 2 Tbs. ground cumin; 2 tsps. chili powder.

3 . Stage

Before removing from heat, stir in: 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro.
