1. Canola oil - 2 tablespoons
2. Garlic, chopped - 10 cloves
3. Minced fresh ginger root - 1 teaspoon
4. Sliced water chestnuts, drained - 1 (8 ounce) can
5. Snow peas - 1 cup
6. Small white button mushrooms - 1 cup
7. Crushed red pepper flakes - 1 teaspoon
8. Salt - ½ teaspoon
9. Ground black pepper - 1 teaspoon
10. Peeled and deveined jumbo shrimp - 1 pound
11. Chicken broth - ½ cup
12. Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
13. Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
14. Dry sherry - 2 tablespoons
15. Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
16. Water - 1 tablespoon

How to cook deliciously - Chinese Take-Out Shrimp with Garlic

1. Stage

Heat oil in wok or large skillet until very hot. Cook and stir garlic and ginger in the hot oil until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add the water chestnuts, snow peas, mushrooms, red pepper flakes, salt, pepper, and shrimp to the pan. Cook, stirring, until shrimp turns pink, 2 to 3 minutes.

2. Stage

Combine the chicken broth, rice vinegar, fish sauce, and dry sherry in a small bowl. Pour into the shrimp mixture; cook and stir briefly to combine. Combine the cornstarch and water and stir into the wok. Stir until sauce has thickened, about 2 minutes.
