1. Butter - ½ cup
2. All-purpose flour - ½ cup
3. Onion, chopped - 1
4. Chopped fresh chives - 1 bunch
5. Heavy cream - 2 quarts
6. Milk - 1 quart
7. Water - 2 cups
8. Ground cumin - 3 teaspoons
9. Salt - 2 teaspoons
10. Ground black pepper - 2 teaspoons
11. Garlic powder - 2 teaspoons
12. Dried thyme - 2 teaspoons
13. Potatoes, peeled and cubed - 4
14. Skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - cut into cubes - 1 pound
15. Chopped fresh parsley - 3 tablespoons

How to cook deliciously - Cream of Chicken and Potato Soup

1. Stage

Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Stir in flour until absorbed thoroughly by the butter. Add onion and chives and sauté for 5 minutes.

Pour in cream, milk, and water, and season with cumin, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and thyme.

Add in potatoes and chicken. Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 1 hour. Remove from heat, let cool slightly, pour into individual bowls, and garnish each with parsley.
