Ingredients for - Cream of Chicken and Potato Soup

1. Butter ½ cup
2. All-purpose flour ½ cup
3. Onion, chopped 1
4. Chopped fresh chives 1 bunch
5. Heavy cream 2 quarts
6. Milk 1 quart
7. Water 2 cups
8. Ground cumin 3 teaspoons
9. Salt 2 teaspoons
10. Ground black pepper 2 teaspoons
11. Garlic powder 2 teaspoons
12. Dried thyme 2 teaspoons
13. Potatoes, peeled and cubed 4
14. Skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - cut into cubes 1 pound
15. Chopped fresh parsley 3 tablespoons

How to cook deliciously - Cream of Chicken and Potato Soup

1 . Stage

Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Stir in flour until absorbed thoroughly by the butter. Add onion and chives and sauté for 5 minutes.

2 . Stage

Pour in cream, milk, and water, and season with cumin, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and thyme.

3 . Stage

Add in potatoes and chicken. Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 1 hour. Remove from heat, let cool slightly, pour into individual bowls, and garnish each with parsley.
