1. Vegetable oil for frying 4 cups
2. Squid, cleaned and sliced into rings 1 pound
3. Garlic powder 1 tablespoon
4. Onion Powder ½ tablespoon
5. Sea salt ½ teaspoon
6. Dried oregano ½ teaspoon
7. Dried basil ½ teaspoon
8. Dried parsley ½ teaspoon
9. Paprika ½ teaspoon
10. Cayenne pepper, or to taste (Optional) ¼ teaspoon
11. Ground white pepper ¼ teaspoon
12. All-purpose flour ½ cup
13. Lemon, cut into wedges 1
14. Marinara sauce, warmed ¼ cup

How to cook deliciously - Crispy Calamari Rings

1 . Stage

Preheat oil to 370 degrees F (185 degrees C) in a deep fryer, deep frying pan, or pot.

2 . Stage

Coat squid with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, oregano, basil, parsley, paprika, cayenne, and white pepper in a medium bowl. Mix thoroughly. Add flour and toss to dredge.

3 . Stage

Fry squid in the hot oil, in batches if needed, until light brown, 2 to 3 minutes. Do not overcook, or squid will be tough and chewy. Drain on paper towels. Serve with lemon wedges and marinara sauce.
