1. Pitted tart cherries (such as Door County cherries) 2 cups
2. White sugar, or to taste ⅓ cup
3. Vodka, or as needed 1 cup

Put cherries in a clean, 1-quart glass jar; add sugar. Fill the rest of the jar with vodka. Place lid on jar and shake.
