1. Brown sugar - 6 tablespoons
2. Garlic powder - 2 tablespoons
3. Chili powder - 2 tablespoons
4. Paprika - 2 tablespoons
5. Dried oregano - 2 tablespoons
6. Onion Powder - 2 tablespoons
7. Mustard seed - 1 tablespoon
8. Ground black pepper - 1 tablespoon
9. Ground cumin - ½ teaspoon
10. Ground coriander - ½ teaspoon
11. Salt to taste - ½ teaspoon
12. Pork butt roast, or more to taste - 1 (3 pound)
13. Vegetable oil - 3 tablespoons
14. Water - 2 cups
15. Liquid smoke flavoring - 2 tablespoons
16. Dried chipotle chile peppers, or to taste (Optional) - 2

How to cook deliciously - Faux Smoked Pulled Pork (Carnitas)

1. Stage

Mix brown sugar, garlic powder, chili powder, paprika, oregano, onion powder, mustard seed, black pepper, cumin, coriander, and salt together in a small bowl.

Rub pork roast liberally with brown sugar mixture.

Heat oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add pork roast; cook until browned, 3 to 5 minutes per side.

Transfer pork to a slow cooker. Add water, liquid smoke, and chipotle peppers.

Cook on Low until pork is tender, about 6 hours. Transfer pork to a cutting board and pull apart with tongs.
