1. Jalapeno chile, seeded, finely chopped 1
2. Fresh cilantro, finely chopped 2 tablespoons
3. Manchego cheese, cut into two wedges 12 ounces
4. All-purpose flour 1 cup
5. Cold water 1 cup
6. Crushed ice ¼ cup
7. Vegetable oil for deep frying, or as needed ¼ cup

1 . Stage

Combine jalapeno and cilantro together in a bowl. Coat both Manchego cheese wedges with the mixture.

2 . Stage

Mix all-purpose flour, water, and crushed ice together in a bowl until there are no lumps in the flour. Dip cheese wedges into the batter.

3 . Stage

Heat vegetable oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Dip cheese wedges into hot oil and fry until batter is crispy and browned, 3 to 4 minutes. Transfer fried cheese to paper towels layered on a plate to drain excess oil.
