1. Egg, separated, divided - 1 large
2. Butter, softened - ½ cup
3. Packed brown sugar - ¼ cup
4. All-purpose flour - 1 cup
5. Vanilla extract - ½ teaspoon
6. Salt - ¼ teaspoon
7. Finely chopped walnuts - ¼ cup
8. Any flavor fruit jam - ⅔ cup

Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Grease two cookie sheets and set aside.
