Ingredients for - Grandma Emma's Spice Loaf

1. Hot, brewed coffee - 1 cup
2. Raisins - ½ cup
3. Shortening - ½ cup
4. White sugar - 1 cup
5. Eggs - 2
6. Molasses - 2 tablespoons
7. Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
8. Ground cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
9. Ground nutmeg - ½ teaspoon
10. Ground cloves - ½ teaspoon
11. Ground ginger - ½ teaspoon
12. All-purpose flour - 2 cups
13. Baking soda - 1 teaspoon
14. Salt - ½ teaspoon
15. Chopped walnuts - ½ cup

How to cook deliciously - Grandma Emma's Spice Loaf

1. Stage

Soak raisins in coffee until plump. Do not drain.

2. Stage

Cream together the shortening, sugar and eggs. Blend in molasses and vanilla.

3. Stage

In a large bowl mix together the cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger, flour, baking soda, and salt. Make a well in the center of the bowl.

4. Stage

Add the liquid ingredients to the well in the dry ingredients. Stir in coffee with raisins and nuts. Pour batter into a greased 9x5 inch loaf pan.

Bake in a preheated 350 degree F(175 degrees C) oven for one hour.
