1. 2 medium carrots, sliced -
2. 2 celery ribs, chopped -
3. 1/2 cup chopped onion -
4. 2 tablespoons butter -
5. 4 cans (15-1/2 ounces each) great northern beans, rinsed and drained -
6. 4 cups chicken broth -
7. 2 cups cubed fully cooked ham -
8. 1 teaspoon chili powder -
9. 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic -
10. 1/4 teaspoon pepper -
11. 1 bay leaf -

How to cook deliciously - Ham and Bean Soup

1. Stage

In a large saucepan, saute the carrots, celery and onion in butter until tender.

2. Stage

Stir in the rinsed, drained great northern beans. Add the chicken broth, cubed ham, chili powder, minced garlic, pepper and bay leaf.

3. Stage

Bring the soup to a boil. Reduce the heat and cook for 15 minutes or until heated through. Discard the bay leaf before serving.
