1. Coarsely chopped pecans - 1 ⅓ cups
2. Butter, divided - 1 ¼ cups
3. All-purpose flour - 3 cups
4. Baking powder - 2 teaspoons
5. Salt - ½ teaspoon
6. White sugar - 2 cups
7. Eggs - 4
8. Milk - 1 cup
9. Vanilla extract - 2 teaspoons

1. Stage

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Combine pecans and 1/4 cup butter in a baking pan.

Bake pecans in the preheated oven until toasted and fragrant, about 20 minutes. Let cool.

Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
