Ingredients for - Peas Rice

1. Basmati rice - 1 cup
2. Butter or margarine - 1 tablespoon
3. Whole cloves - 2
4. Cinnamon stick - 1 (2 inch) piece
5. Serrano pepper, chopped - 1
6. Minced fresh ginger root - 1 teaspoon
7. Green peas - ¼ cup
8. Salt to taste - ¼ cup
9. White sugar - ¼ teaspoon
10. Water - 2 cups

How to cook deliciously - Peas Rice

1. Stage

Wash and drain the rice.

2. Stage

Heat a saucepan over a medium heat. Add butter or margarine and let melt. Stir in cloves, cinnamon, Serrano chile, and ginger. Saute briefly. Mix in rice and stir to coat it evenly. Stir in peas, salt, and sugar. Pour in water and bring the water to a boil.

3. Stage

Reduce heat to simmer and let rice cook covered for 15 to 20 minutes; or until rice is tender.
