1. Rotini pasta - 1 ½ cups
2. Pesto, or to taste - 3 tablespoons
3. Extra-virgin olive oil - 1 tablespoon
4. Salt, or to taste - ¼ teaspoon
5. Granulated garlic - ¼ teaspoon
6. Ground black pepper - ⅛ teaspoon
7. Halved grape tomatoes - ½ cup
8. Small (pearlini) fresh mozzarella balls - ½ cup
9. Fresh basil leaves, finely shredded - 2 leaves

1. Stage

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil; cook the rotini at a boil until tender yet firm to the bite, about 8 minutes; drain.

Mix pesto, olive oil, salt, granulated garlic, and black pepper in a bowl; add rotini. Toss to coat. Fold in tomatoes, mozzarella, and fresh basil.
