Preheat oven to 375°. In a large bowl, combine plums, sugar, flour and cinnamon. Pour into a greased 11x7-in. baking dish.

In a small bowl, combine sugar, flour, baking powder and salt; cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in egg. Sprinkle over plums.
3. Stage
Bake until filling is bubbly and topping is golden, 45-50 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream if desired.
