1. 2 cups cubed cooked roast beef -
2. 4 cups tomato juice -
3. 2 cans (14-1/2 ounces each) diced tomatoes, undrained -

5. 3 large red potatoes, diced -
6. 2 cups frozen lima beans -
7. 1 large onion, diced -
8. 1 cup diced celery -
9. 1 tablespoon beef bouillon granules -
10. 1 to 2 teaspoons sugar, optional -
11. Salt and pepper to taste -
12. 1 bay leaf -

1. Stage

In a Dutch oven or soup kettle, combine all of the ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and cook until vegetables are tender, about 30 minutes. Discard bay leaf.
