1. Vegetable oil - 3 tablespoons
2. Ground beef - 6 pounds
3. Chopped onion - 1 ½ cups
4. Garlic, minced - 3 cloves
5. Salt and ground black pepper to taste - 1 pinch
6. Sloppy Joe sauce (such as Manwich®) - 3 (26.5 ounce) cans
7. Celery, chopped - 5 ribs
8. Green bell pepper, chopped - 1 large
9. Brown sugar - 5 tablespoons
10. Cider vinegar - 2 tablespoons
11. Ground cloves - ⅛ teaspoon

How to cook deliciously - Sloppy Joes for a Crowd

1. Stage

Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1/3 of the beef, 1/2 cup onion, and 1 clove garlic. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Transfer to a slow cooker. Repeat twice more with remaining oil, beef, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper.

2. Stage

Add Sloppy Joe sauce, celery, green pepper, brown sugar, cider vinegar, and cloves to the slow cooker. Cook on Low for at least 4 hours, adjusting seasoning to taste.
