1. Onion, minced - 1 small
2. Garlic, minced - 3 cloves
3. Dijon mustard - ½ cup
4. Apple cider vinegar - 2 tablespoons
5. Bay leaves, crumbled - 3
6. Whole black peppercorns, crushed - 8
7. Pickling salt - 1 tablespoon
8. Chopped fresh parsley - 1 teaspoon
9. Celery seed - 1 teaspoon
10. Beef brisket - 1 (4 pound)
11. Water - 1 cup
12. Carrots, peeled and cut into 1-inch chunks - 4
13. Cabbage, sliced into strips - ½ small head

How to cook deliciously - Slow Cooker Corned Beef-Style Brisket

1. Stage

Stir together the onion, garlic, mustard, vinegar, bay leaves, peppercorns, salt, parsley, and celery seed in a bowl. Cover, and refrigerate for 24 hours.

Rub the brisket with the mixture, wrap tightly, and refrigerate overnight.

3. Stage

To cook the brisket, place it into a slow cooker along with the water. Cover, and cook on low for 5 hours. Add the carrots, and cabbage, and continue cooking until the brisket is tender, about 3 hours more.
