1. Dry ranch dressing mix (such as Hidden Valley Ranch®) - 1 (1 ounce) package
2. Buttermilk - 1 cup
3. Fat-free plain yogurt - 1 cup
4. Taco seasoning mix, or more to taste - ½ (1.25 ounce) package
5. Torn romaine lettuce - 8 cups
6. Roasted red peppers, diced - 2
7. Black beans, rinsed and drained - 1 (14 ounce) can
8. White corn, drained - 1 (14 ounce) can
9. Finely chopped sweet onion - ¼ cup
10. Diced green chile peppers - 1 (4 ounce) can
11. Diced roma tomatoes - 1 cup
12. Shredded sharp Cheddar cheese - ½ cup
13. Avocado - peeled, pitted, and sliced - 1 large
14. Chopped fresh cilantro (Optional) - ¼ cup

How to cook deliciously - Southwest Layered Salad

1. Stage

Mix dressing mix, buttermilk, yogurt, and taco seasoning mix together in a mixing bowl.

2. Stage

Line a large serving bowl with the torn lettuce.

3. Stage

Mix roasted peppers, black beans, corn, onion, and green chiles together in a bowl. Spread mixture over the lettuce. Top with tomatoes; sprinkle with Cheddar cheese. Arrange avocado slices in an overlapping circle. Garnish with cilantro. Serve with dressing on the side.
