Ingredients for - Sweet and Sour Chicken

1. Water, divided - 1 ¾ cups
2. Pineapple chunks, drained (juice reserved) - 1 (8 ounce) can
3. White sugar - ¾ cup
4. Distilled white vinegar - ½ cup
5. Orange food color - 2 drops
6. Cornstarch - ¼ cup
7. Self-rising flour - 2 ¼ cups
8. Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
9. Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
10. Egg - 1
11. Salt - ½ teaspoon
12. Ground white pepper - ¼ teaspoon
13. Water - 1 ½ cups
14. Skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - cut into 1 inch cubes - 8
15. Vegetable oil for frying - 1 quart
16. Green bell pepper, cut into 1 inch pieces - 2

1. Stage
