1. 4 cups shredded cabbage -
2. 1 large apple, chopped -
3. 3/4 cup raisins -
4. 1/2 cup chopped celery -
5. 1/4 cup chopped onion -
6. 1/4 cup mayonnaise -
7. 2 tablespoons lemon juice -
8. 1 tablespoon sugar -
9. 1 tablespoon olive oil -
10. 1/2 teaspoon salt -
11. 1/8 teaspoon pepper -

1. Stage

In a large bowl, combine the cabbage, apples, raisins, celery and onion.

In a small bowl, whisk together the mayo, lemon juice, sugar, olive oil, salt and pepper. Editor's Tip: A touch of sugar won't make the dressing taste sweet, but it will help balance the overall flavors.

Add the dressing to the slaw mix, and toss until everything is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. This time will help the flavors meld.
