1. 1/3 cup butter, cubed -
2. 1 small onion, chopped -
3. 1/3 cup all-purpose flour -
4. 2 teaspoons minced fresh parsley -
5. 1/4 teaspoon pepper -
6. 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder -
7. 1/8 teaspoon dried thyme -
8. 3 cups reduced-sodium chicken broth -
9. 1-1/4 pounds sliced deli turkey -
10. 12 slices white bread -

How to cook deliciously - Blue Plate Open-Faced Turkey Sandwich

1. Stage

Heat the butter in a large skillet or cast-iron pan over medium heat. Add the onion, stirring and cooking until it's tender. That should take about four to five minutes. Stir in the flour, parsley, pepper, garlic powder and dried thyme, and then gradually whisk in all the broth. Boil the mixture while stirring constantly, and then keep cooking and stirring for another one to two minutes, until the mixture has thickened slightly.

2. Stage

Add the slices of turkey to the mixture, one at a time, and make sure each is heated through. Serve the turkey-gravy mixture over the bread.
