1. Water - 3 cups
2. Salt - ½ teaspoon
3. Hominy grits - 1 cup
4. Shredded sharp Cheddar cheese - ½ cup
5. Butter - 1 tablespoon
6. Freshly ground black pepper - 1 tablespoon

How to cook deliciously - Breakfast Grits

1. Stage

Bring water and salt to a boil in a saucepan. Whisk in grits; continue to whisk for 1 minute. When the mixture comes to a boil again, turn the heat to low. Stir frequently, cook for 10 to 15 minutes.

2. Stage

Remove grits from the heat and add cheese, butter, and pepper; mix well. Stir until butter and cheese are melted.
