2. Finely chopped onion - ¼ cup
3. Water - ½ cup
4. Garlic, finely chopped - 8 cloves
5. Sazon seasoning with saffron (such as Goya Azafran) - 2 (1.41 ounce) packages
6. Lemon, juiced - 1
7. Salt and ground black pepper to taste - 1
8. Beer - ½ (12 ounce) bottle
9. Hot sauce (such as Tabasco), or to taste - 2 teaspoons
10. Uncooked medium shrimp, peeled and deveined - 1 pound

1. Stage

Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Sauté onion in hot butter until slightly golden, about 5 minutes. Stir in water, garlic, sazon seasoning, lemon juice, salt, and pepper; cook for 2 minutes.
