Ingredients for - Grandmother's Brown Sugar Cookies

1. Packed brown sugar - 3 cups
2. Shortening - ¾ cup
3. Cream of tartar - ¾ teaspoon
4. Eggs - 4
5. Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
6. All-purpose flour - 5 cups
7. Baking soda - ¾ teaspoon

How to cook deliciously - Grandmother's Brown Sugar Cookies

1. Stage

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

2. Stage

Cream together the sugar, shortening and eggs. Add vanilla and mix well.

3. Stage

In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar. Add to brown sugar mixture and stir until it is a soft dough.

4. Stage

Roll out, cut with cookie cutters and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
