Ingredients for - Homemade Chicken Gravy

1. Unsalted butter - ½ cup
2. All-purpose flour - ½ cup
3. Cold chicken stock, or more if needed - 1 quart
4. Heavy cream - ⅓ cup
5. Salt and ground white pepper to taste - ⅓ cup
6. Cayenne pepper - 1 pinch

1. Stage

Stir in heavy cream, and season with salt, white pepper, and cayenne. Taste and if the gravy still tastes starchy, let it simmer a little longer, adding more cold stock if necessary.
