Ingredients for - Hush Puppies

1. Vegetable oil for frying, or as needed - 1 quart
2. All-purpose flour - ½ cup
3. Self-rising cornmeal - ½ cup
4. Onion, minced - ½
5. Milk - ½ cup
6. Egg, beaten - 1
7. Celery, minced - 1 stalk
8. Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
9. Cajun seasoning, or to taste - 1 pinch

How to cook deliciously - Hush Puppies

1. Stage

Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

2. Stage

Mix flour, cornmeal, onion, milk, egg, celery, garlic, and Cajun seasoning in a bowl.

3. Stage

Drop ping pong ball-sized balls of batter, about 5 at a time, into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Remove hush puppies with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Repeat with remaining batter.
