2. Tomato juice - 3 cups
3. Dried lentils, rinsed and drained - 1 ½ cups
4. Beer - 1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle
5. Chopped onion - ½ cup
6. Carrot, chopped - 1 medium
7. Dried thyme, crushed - 1 teaspoon
8. Dried rosemary, crushed - ½ teaspoon
9. Garlic powder - ¼ teaspoon
10. Ground black pepper - ¼ teaspoon
11. Bay leaf - 1
12. Sweet potatoes, cut into 1/2-inch cubes - 2 medium
13. Smoked bratwurst, cut into chunks - 12 ounces

How to cook deliciously - Lentil Stew with Smoked Sausage

1. Stage

Combine water, tomato juice, lentils, beer, onion, carrot, thyme, rosemary, garlic powder, pepper, and bay leaf in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil.

Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes. Stir in sweet potatoes and sausage. Cover and simmer until potatoes are tender, 30 to 35 minutes. Remove bay leaf before serving.
