Ingredients for - My Mom's Sausage & Rice Casserole

1. Pork sausage, sliced 1 pound
2. Onion, chopped ½
3. Celery, chopped 1 stalk
4. Green bell pepper, chopped 1
5. Uncooked long grain white rice ½ cup
6. Chicken noodle soup mix 1 (4.5 ounce) package
7. Hot water 2 cups
8. Slivered almonds ½ cup

1 . Stage

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

2 . Stage

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, combine sausage, onion, celery, and bell pepper and sauté for 5 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

3 . Stage

Stir dry rice in with sausage and vegetables, then add water and soup mix. Transfer mixture to a lightly greased 2-quart casserole dish and top with almonds.

4 . Stage

Cover and bake in the preheated oven for 90 minutes.
