1. Salted butter - 1 tablespoon
2. Onion, chopped - 1 medium
3. Chicken broth - 1 (32 fluid ounce) container
4. Cauliflower, chopped into small florets - 1 medium head
5. Aged Cheddar cheese - 1 (16 ounce) package
6. Milk - 5 cups
7. All-purpose flour - ½ cup
8. Salt and ground black pepper to taste - ½ cup

Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion and fry until softened, 3 to 5 minutes. Add chicken broth and cauliflower; bring to a boil.
