How to cook deliciously - Peanut Butter Mousse

1. Stage

In a large bowl, use a hand mixer or stand mixer to beat the heavy whipping cream and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Set the cream mixture aside. Editor’s Tip: When you lift up the beaters, the peaks should stand straight up, not curl down. And, yep, this is exactly how you’d make homemade whipped cream. If you’ve tackled that before, then this peanut butter mousse recipe will be a breeze!

2. Stage

In another bowl, beat the cream cheese and confectioners' sugar together until smooth. Gradually beat in the peanut butter until smooth. Then, carefully fold in the whipped cream with a rubber spatula. Editor's Tip: Don’t rush this step—gently folding in the whipped cream will keep the mousse light and airy.

3. Stage

Spoon or pipe the peanut butter mousse into ramekins or small dessert dishes. Garnish with peanuts and chocolate shavings if desired.

4. Stage

Refrigerate the mousse for at least an hour before serving. Editor’s Tip: I recommend covering the dishes with storage wrap if you can so the mousse doesn’t absorb any funky fridge smells.
