1. Active dry yeast - 2 ¼ teaspoons
2. Warm water - ¼ cup
3. Scalded milk, cooled - 1 cup
4. Prepared mashed potatoes - ½ cup
5. Vegetable shortening - ¼ cup
6. White sugar - ¼ cup
7. Salt - 1 ½ teaspoons
8. Egg, beaten - 1 large
9. All-purpose flour - 4 ½ cups

1. Stage

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease two baking sheets.
