1. Olive oil - ⅓ cup
2. Sliced fresh mushrooms - 2 cups
3. Finely chopped onion - 1 cup
4. Chopped carrot - 1 cup
5. Chopped green bell pepper - ¾ cup
6. Chopped celery - ¼ cup
7. Minced garlic - 1 tablespoon
8. Chili powder, or more to taste - 1 tablespoon
9. Ground cumin - 1 tablespoon
10. Salt - 1 ⅛ teaspoons
11. Ground black pepper - ¾ teaspoon
12. Dried basil - ¾ teaspoon
13. Dried oregano - ¾ teaspoon
14. Whole peeled tomatoes with juice - 1 (28 ounce) can
15. Black beans, undrained - 3 cups
16. Tomato paste - ½ (6 ounce) can
17. Red wine - ¼ cup
18. Hot pepper sauce (such as Tabasco®) - ¾ teaspoon
19. Water - 2 cups

How to cook deliciously - Pub-Style Vegetarian Chili

1. Stage

Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat; cook and stir mushrooms, onion, carrot, green bell pepper, celery, garlic, chili powder, cumin, salt, black pepper, basil, and oregano until the onion begins to soften, 2 to 3 minutes.

Stir in tomatoes with their liquid, black beans and their liquid, tomato paste, red wine, hot pepper sauce, and water.
